A quarry of probable post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the west of Five Cross Way. The large oval shaped former quarry measures approximately 60m in length by 52m in width and remains visible as a slight earthwork pit, albeit largely levelled, on digital images derived from Lidar data captured between 2005-2010.
