Orchard tree planting banks of probable post medieval to 19th century date were visible as earthwork banks to south and west of the Five Bells public house on aerial photographs of the 1960s. The banks fall within an area of orchard depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25inch map and the orchard remained planted in 1967, although the banks were visible in areas of thinner planting. The tree planting has now been cleared and the earthwork banks remained visible on digital images derived from lidar data acquired in 2005 and 2010, but they appeared to have been eroded by modern cultivation, most noticeably on the western side of the former orchard.
