Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, off Station Road, Cullompton. The site of the orchard appears to have fallen out of use by the time of the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s, although aerial photographs of 1947 show that a series of parallel north to south aligned earthwork banks, upon which the fruit trees were established, remain visible. These surviving earthwork banks occupy an area of approximately 1.50 hectares of fairly level ground within a single rectilinear shaped plot which is depicted on historical mapping. The orchard banks remain visible as a series of earthwork banks on aerial photographs up until 1969, although the northern extent of the earthworks has been completely levelled and the site developed for commercial use. By 1989, however, aerial photographs show that the remainder of the site has also been levelled and developed.
