Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2014-2015, East and Mid Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV356883.

A possible earthwork boundary ditch of uncertain date is visible on digital images derived from Lidar data captured between 2005 and 2012, to the east of South Hill Plantation. The former boundary is faintly defined but forms the northeast section of an oval-shaped hilltop enclosure, 0.74 hectares in area and listed as Round Plantation on the Tiverton parish tithe apportionment, although the boundary clearly passed out of use by this time. The origins and function of this distinctive hilltop enclosure are uncertain, although may be of medieval date, or have potential earlier origins.
