A water meadow system of probable 19th century date is visible as a series of earthwork ditches on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the west of Bradford Farm. The extensive system is visible as a series of fragmented ditches and occupies an area of approximately 6.7 hectares of fairly level ground, within an area of floodplain on the northern side of the River Lowman. It is largely unclear, however, how this system may have operated, although it appears to tap one or more of the numerous streams which feed into the River Lowman from the north, or Mill Leat which bisects across the water meadow. The system is partly depicted as a series of drains and sluices on historical mapping and is located in an area where similarly extensive systems have been recorded along the River Lowman to the northeast and southwest. It remains partly visible as a series of earthwork ditches on digital images derived from Lidar data captured between 2005 and 2012.
