Summary

No longer extant, on the Tithe Map a dwelling is depicted to the south of Bearslake Farmhouse. Building is shown on the 19th and early 20th century historic mapping and the 1940s aerial photograph but can not be seen in the later 20th century sources.

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848, 7/21 pages of pdf (Cartographic). SDV349431.

A rectangular dwelling is depicted on the Tithe Map south of Bearwalls Farm; 1224 'House and Garden' on Sourton apportionment. Lies to the south of the fork in the river / spring. Small outshut or adjoining structure at the north-eastern end of the house. Dwelling is comparable in size to the cottage on the opposite side of the road (called Lake Cottage in modern times).
