KIRWAN, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV105380.

Simple cremation found and four pieces of bronze waste at peristalith (kirwan).

AM, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV123245.

Estimated -/-/1923(am).

Ancient Monuments, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV123255.

Estimated -/-/1995 (ancient monuments) bowl barrow + ring cairn (see subsheet for cairn). Consists of a mound of evenly rounded profile, 21m in diam and c.1m high, which is located 12m to the nw of the ring cairn (see subsheet). There is no evidence that it was surrounded by a ditch.

AM, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV123256.

Antiquarian investigation in 1869, when a trench was cut from the centre of the mound towards the se, revealed the barrow to be composed of a central mound of earth covered with a layer of stones, and encircled by a kerb of large flints ranging from 30cm-45cm in size. This in turn is covered with a substantial layer of dark soil. Traces of a funeral pyre were found beneath the central mound, and 4 shapeless pieces of bronze, together weighing over 1.5 pounds, were found under part of the kerb. A slight hollow in the se sector of the mound may indicate the location of the excavation trench. The area of ground between the ring cairn and the bowl barrow is included in the scheduled area (am).

Barrow. Flat topped grass covered mound circa 20 metres diameter by 1 metre high with hollows of former disturbance on top. No evidence of ditch. Partially excavated in 1869. Pieces of bronze or copper were recovered. On east side of mound is small area of recent disturbance 1 metre by 1.5 metre by 0.25 metre deep. May represent animal erosion of an existing hollow (cattle hoof prints visible). The barrow and adjacent ringcairn (site 314), and the ground between them, form a SAM.
