A road is illustrated on the Yealmpton Tithe Map of 1843, running broadly north to south between the Kitchen Garden at Cofflete and South Barton. It is recorded as Plot 1343 called 'Road' within the Tithe Apportionment. The route is marked as a track on the First and Second Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey maps (c.1880s and 1904-6). The track is not clearly illustrated on the Ordnance Survey Master Map, but a footpath is now shown in this location.
