A quarry is illustrated within the south-east corner of plot 358 on the Brixton Tithe Map of 1839, recorded as 'Quarry and Cliff Waste' within the Tithe Apportionment. The site is illustrated and labelled as an 'Old Quarry' on the First and Second Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey maps (c.1880s and 1904-6), with a 'Limekiln' labelled and illustrated on its southern edge. The quarry is still present on the Ordnance Survey Master Map, with a pond now labelled within the quarry.
