Summary

The site of two former quarries are depicted as ponds on the Modbury parish tithe map of 1841, to the east of Goutsford Bridge. Plot 1855, which is located inbetween the two quarries, is recorded as 'Quarry Park' on the accompanying tithe apportionment. Both quarries are depicted on the First Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s, with the eastern of the two labelled as 'Old Quarry'. This former quarry is also depicted as an earthwork on the Ordnance Survey 2015 MasterMap.

The site of two former quarries are depicted as ponds on the Modbury parish tithe map of 1841, to the east of Goutsford Bridge. Plot 1855, which is located inbetween the two quarries, is recorded as 'Quarry Park' on the accompanying tithe apportionment.
