The pit corresponds partly with a depicted pond.

A large irregularly shaped shallow earthwork pit is visible to the south of East Raddon on images derived from lidar. The pit measures approximately 70 by 35 metres in size. A pond depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25 inch map occupies the south-eastern corner of the pit, which might be evidence that the pit is the remains of a former quarry of medieval to post-medieval date; the much larger Raddon Quarry is situated circa 200 metres to the east.
