Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, at Browns Farm. An orchard is depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s, although by 1946, aerial photographs show that the orchard trees have been largely grubbed up, leaving a series of parallel east to west aligned earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, visible. These banks occupy an area of approximately 0.10 hectares of gentle northwest facing slope, within a single rectilinear shaped plot. The earthwork banks are visible on aerial photographs of 1989, although by 2000 the banks appear to have been completely levelled following landscaping works, including construction of two ponds, across the site.
