A rectilinear ditch, circa 3 metres wide, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken from 1946 and on images derived from lidar data captured in 2005. No field boundaries are depicted in this location on the available historic maps, and this could be the remains of a boundary removed prior to the mid-19th century, perhaps as a result of parkland creation at Trehill House. Alternatively it is possible that the earthwork relates to a phase of the designed landscape, although there is no indication of any particular garden feature in this location on the historic mapping.
