The extraction pit is visible as an earthwork pit.

An extraction pit of probable post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, at Madge’s Cross. The sub-oval shaped earthwork measures approximately 45m in length by 23m in width and is located at the road intersection at Madge’s Cross, on the northern side of Harp Lane. The extraction pit remains visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 2000.
