A linear bank is visible.

Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2014-2015, East and Mid Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV356883.

An earthwork bank, circa 150 metres in length by 2.5 metres in width, and aligned roughly south-east to north-west, is visible on aerial photographs taken from 1946 onwards and partially on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2012. A linear field boundary is depicted in this approximate location on the Tithe Map, but apparently on a slightly different alignment and only on the north side of Matford Brook. A short stretch of the earthwork appears to continue to the south of this watercourse, whilst the part on the northern side incorporates a slight change of direction that is not reflected in the mapped field boundary. The earthwork may therefore pre-date the boundary depicted on the Tithe mapping, and is interpreted as a relict field boundary of medieval or post-medieval origin that fell out of use prior to the mid-19th century.
