Earthwork banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, at Coney Meed. A single orchard is depicted here to the west on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s and the earthworks here likely represent former orchard banks, upon which the fruit trees were established. It is unclear, however, if those earthworks to the east similarly represent the site of an orchard, which appears to have been cleared by the time of the Firsy Edition OS map, or represent the remains of 18th-19th century cultivation banks. The earthworks are northwest to southeast and north to south aligned and occupy an area of approximately 3.17 hectares of gentle northwest facing slope. The earthwork banks to the east remain visible on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2010, although those to the west have been completely levelled following development of the site.
