Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, at Bridge Copse. Orchards are depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s, although by 1946, aerial photographs show that the orchard trees have been almost completely grubbed up, leaving a series of parallel northwest to southeast and east to west aligned earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, visible. These banks occupy a combined area of approximately 0.30 hectares of fairly level land within two irregular shaped plots depicted on the First Edition OS map, on the northern side of a stream. The orchard banks to the west remain visible on Lidar-derived images of 2005, although the survival of those to the east is less clear.
