The extraction pit is visible as an earthwork pit.

An extraction pit or quarry of possible post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the south of Topshayes Farm. The oval shaped earthwork measures approximately 35m in length by 26m in width and remains visible on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2010.
