An earthwork pit, circa 45 by 25 metres in extent, is visible on aerial photographs from the 1960s, and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. It is likely to have been an extraction pit that became disused before the late-19th century; this parcel of land was depicted with orchard trees on the late-19th century mapping and had presumably been re-used as an orchard since it was difficult to cultivate. The area apprears to be under cultivation on the most recent available imagery, but it appears that the pit still survives as an earthwork.
