Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1963 onwards, off Beacon Heath road. An orchard is depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. Aerial photographs of 1946 show that the site of the orchard is covered with fruit trees, although by 1963 these have been completely grubbed up, leaving a series of parallel northwest to southeast aligned earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, visible. These banks occupy an area of approximately 0.79 hectares of gentle southeast facing slope, within a single plot depicted on the First Edition OS map. The orchard banks are visible on aerial photographs up until 1988, although appear to have been completely levelled by 1992.
