Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on Lidar-derived images of 1998 and 2005, at Pincourt Farm. Orchards are depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. Aerial photographs up until 1966 show that the orchards remain largely covered with fruit trees, although by 1988 these have been completely cleared. The earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, are, however, only visible on Lidar-derived images. The earthworks are east to west aligned and occupy an area of approximately 0.44 hectares of gentle east facing slope, within adjoining plots depicted on the First Edition OS map.
