A sand pit and gravel pit are located in close proximity to the south.

The possible former gravel or sand pit is visible as an earthwork pit.

A possible former gravel or sand pit of post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the southeast of Bridewell. The elongated and irregular shaped earthwork measures approximately 114m in length by 49m in width and is located in close proximity to a sand pit and gravel pit depicted to the south on the Second Edition Ordnance Survey map of between 1904-06. The site of the former gravel or sand pit is defined as an area of rough ground on digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2014 and likely survives as an earthwork.
