A possible former extraction pit of post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit and banked feature on aerial photographs of 1948 onwards, to the southwest of Shiles Farm. The sub-oval shaped earthwork pit measures approximately 25m in length by 19m in width, with a an earthwork bank derived from possible up-cast material along its northern edge. The possible extraction pit remains visible on Lidar-derived images of between 1998-2014.
