A partial earthwork is depicted here on the Second Edition Ordnance Survey Map of between 1904-06.

A possible quarry of post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the northeast of Hawkmoor Farm. The irregular shaped earthwork, which is partly symbolised on the Second Edition Ordnance Survey map of between 1904-06, measures approximately 130m in length by 76m in width and is located on northeast facing slope, on the northern side of a stream. The earthwork is visible on aerial photographs of 1976, although is obscured by dense tree cover after this date. The extent of the former quarry is defined as an area of woodland on the Ordnance Survey 2015 MasterMap.
