Earthwork banks of possible lynchets or former field boundaries of medieval to post-medieval date are visible on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the north of Northay. The faintly defined, curvilinear earthworks are northwest to southeast aligned and are located on moderate north facing slope, to the south of Blackwater River. It is not possible to establish whether these earthworks are depicted on the Parish Tithe Map of approximately 1838-48 as the digital mosaic layer is incomplete here. The earthworks are most clearly visible on Lidar-derived images of between 1998-2014.
