Full description
Cornwall Archaeological Unit, 2001-2002, Tamar Valley National Mapping Programme Transcriptions and Database Records, RAF/V17/170/0016-17 (Interpretation). SDV346287.
Widely dispersed leats were transcribed as earthwork ditches and accompanying spoil heaps from aerial photographs RAF/V17/170/0016-17, across West Down.
One of the leat transcriptions corresponds closely to a Tamar Valley AONB database record; the record is described as ‘unknown medieval’ date but the monument interpretation is unclear and is presumed to be associated with the leat. The leats were probably associated with further extractive industrial sites across West Down.
