Marl pits of possible post-medieval to 19th century date are visible on aerial photographs of 1947 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, at Wytch Farm. The crescent and elongated shaped earthworks are located either side of Witch Lane and measure approximately 71m in length by 20m in width (southern earthwork) and approxiamtely 55m in length by 18m in width (northern earthwork). The northern earthwork is partly depicted as a marl pit on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map. The earthworks are located in an area where a number of similar such features have been recorded during this survey.
