Environment Agency, 1998-2014, LiDAR DTM data (1m resolution), LIDAR ST1501 Environment Agency DTM 01-JAN-1998 to 30-SEP-2014 (Cartographic). SDV359177.

An irregularly shaped earthwork pit was visible.

The pit is visble as very suibtle earthworks.

The remains of a former extractive pit of probable post-medieval to 19th century date were visible on the south-east facing slopes west of Worfield House, Combe Raleigh,
as an irregularly shaped earthwork hollow between 70 to 80 metres across, on digital images derived from lidar data. The pit was not depicted on the Ordnance Survey 25inch First Edition map and therefore probably passed out of use prior to the 1880s.
