A small pit was visible as an earthwork on the east facing slopes of a combe on aerial photographs and digital images derived from lidar data, approximately 350 metres north of Higher Crook Farm. Approximately 70 metres by 25 metres in size, the pit is probably the remains of a former extractive pit of post-medieval to 19th century date. The pit is not depicted on the Ordnance Survey 25inch First Edition map and therefore probably passed out of use prior to the 1880s.
