A small sub-rectangular plot was depicted (1496).

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

The earthwork does not correspond with any depicted pit or quarry.

Royal Air Force, 1947, RAF/CPE/UK/1974, RAF/CPE/UK/1974 F20 2443-2444 11-APR-1947 (Aerial Photograph). SDV356127.

A former pit or area of pitting was visible as an earthwork.

Next Perspectives, 2014, Aerial Photography for Great Britain, Next Perspectives APGB Imagery ST1703 08-SEP-2014 (Aerial Photograph). SDV359479.

The earthwork was partly obscured by a tree clump.

Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

An irregularly shaped pit up to 70 metres long was visible on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards and digital images derived from lidar data as an area of irregular earthwork pitting on the south-west-facing facing slopes to west of Shaugh Farm, Luppitt Parish. The visible earthwork does not correspond with any pit or quarry depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25 inch map, but do approximately match the extent of a small plot (1496) on the Tithe Map for Luppitt, listed on the Tithe Apportionments as a plantation. It is therefore probable that a plantation was established on the site of former extractive pits that probably passed out of use some time prior to the 1840s.
