A possible former field boundary of potential medieval date is visible as an earthwork bank on aerial photographs of 1948 onwards, at Newton Barton. The curvilinear earthwork is northeast to southwest aligned and is situated on gentle to moderate northeast facing slope. The earthwork may form part of a medieval field boundary which passed out of use by the time of the Parish Tithe Map of approximately 1838-48. The earthwork bank remains visible on digital images captured in 2002.
