Cropmarks which have formed over a levelled bank of a potential medieval field boundary are visible on digital images captured in 2010, to the northeast of Carlingwark. The north to south aligned cropmark is associated with a number of other parallel cropmarks visible in this field which appear to form part of a series of medieval strip fields. The other four cropmarks are, however, depicted on the Parish Tithe map and so have not been transcribed as part of this survey, although this field boundary had evidently passed out of use by this time. The cropmark boundary is not visible on other aerial photographs or digital images made available to the survey.
