An earthwork ditch of uncertain date and function is visible on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, at Caller’s Farm. The linear northeast to southwest aligned earthwork measures approximately 16m in width and cuts across gentle southeast facing slope. The earthwork may represent a former field boundary ditch, drainage ditch or possible hollow way, perhaps providing access from Caller’s Lane to the extraction pits to the south and southeast. The earthwork remains partly visible on digital images captured in 2002.
