Two irregular earthwork pits, up to 51 metres across, are visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. Trees and dashed lines are depicted in these locations on the available historic mapping, and they are interpreted as the remains of post-medieval or early modern extraction pits that had ceased operation by the late-19th century.
