Two irregular earthwork pits, 80 by 25 and 16 by 12 metres, are visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. Orchard trees are depicted in the location of the larger of the two on the late-19th century map. They are interpreted as the remains of post-medieval or early modern extraction pits that had ceased operation by the late-19th century, one of which was subsequently reused as an orchard.
