An extraction pit of likely post-medieval to 19th date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the northeast of Loosemore’s Farm, Uffculme. The sub-oval shaped earthwork measures approximately 45m in length by 36m in width and is located in an area where a number of similar such features have been recorded as part of this survey. The extraction pit remains visible as an earthwork on digital images captured in 2016.
