Earthwork banks of potential medieval ridge and furrow or possible post-medieval to 19th century orchard banks are visible on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the northwest of little Musgrove Farm, Dunkeswell. The earthwork banks are northwest to southeast aligned and occupy an area of approximately 0.63 hectares of gentle southeast facing slope. The earthworks are bisected by a curvilinear earthwork ditch of uncertain function. The relationship between this ditch and the earthwork banks is alsounclear. The earthworks may conceivable represent the remains of medieval ridge and furrow, particularly given their proximity to the medieval earthworks associated with Dunkeswell Abbey (MDV1890) to the south and southeast. Alternatively, the earthworks could represent tree-planting banks of a former orchard, the banks providing improved drainage and increased soil depth for the fruit trees, although if so, the orchard appears to have passed out of use by the time of the First Edition Ordnance Survey map. Orchards are, however, depicted within the vicinity here on this map. The earthworks remain visible on oblique aerial photographs taken in 2007.
