An extraction pit of likely post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the southeast of Sidwell’s Farm, Hemyock. The extraction pit is irregular in shape and measures approximately 97m in length by 57m in width. It lies in close proximity to a smaller extraction pit (MDV115627) approximately 100m to the southwest and remains visible as an earthwork pit on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016.
