Possible tree-planting banks of former post-medieval to 19th century orchards are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks within two separate plots on aerial photographs of 1950 onwards, at Waldrons. The two plots are recorded on the Parish Tithe Apportionment as ‘Back Orchard’ (plot 606 to the north) and ‘Little Orchard’ (plot 610 to the south), although by the time of the First Edition Ordnance Survey map, plot 606 appears to have passed out of use. Aerial photographs of 1950 show both plots have been completely cleared of trees, leaving a series of parallel northwest to southeast aligned earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, visible. These banks occupy an area of approximately 0.37 hectares (plot 606) and 0.25 hectares (plot 610) of gentle northwest facing slope. The orchard banks remain visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998-2014.
