A curvilinear earthwork bank, circa 5 metres in width, is visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. It is located circa 130 metres to the south-east of Membury Castle, and is broadly parallel to the circuit of the hillfort. It is interpreted as a relict boundary bank of possible medieval date, its location perhaps a result of the field system evolving around the hillfort. It is possible though that it may be earlier in date and possibly even contemporary with the hillfort. It is not depicted on the available historic mapping, and presumably fell out of use prior to the mid-19th century. It is not clearly visible on any of the other available aerial imagery and this interpretation is tentative.
