Three earthwork pits of likely post-medieval to 19th century extraction pits are visible on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the southwest of Pithayne Farm. The earthworks range from irregular to oval in shape and measure between 33m to 64m in length and between 13m to 39m in width. They all remain partly visible as earthwork pits on infra-red digital images of 2010.
