Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

A former quarry or extraction pit is visible as an earthwork pit circa 1.2 hectares in area on digital images derived from lidar data, concealed by a small woodland or copse on the west-facing slopes north-west of Little Snodwell. The area is bisected by a small stream and it is possible that some of the earthworks are erosional in origin, particularly those south of the watercourse. The earthworks correspond to an area north-west of Little Snodwell depicted on the Tithe Map for Stockland as rough ground which might support the interpretation that the extractive use of the area had ceased prior to the 1840s.
