Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

Parallel linear banks, up to 3.5 metres in width, are indistinctly visible as earthworks on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 and on aerial photographs taken in 2000, in one land parcel immediately to the south of the farm and another 110 metres further to the south. They are broadly cross-contour in orientation and indicative of tree planting banks that were common in orchards of post-medieval or 19th century date. Trees are depicted in both areas on the Tithe map and the northernmost is symbolised as orchard on the late-19th century OS map, supporting this interpretation. Further areas of orchard are depicted around the farm, and orchard banks may also have been present in these other areas. Orchard trees appear to still be present around the farm, whilst the ground surface is obscured by dense tree cover in the southernmost, although fruit trees may be present.
