A relict field boundary of between medieval to post-medieval date is visible as an earthwork bank on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, at Hayne Farm. The L-shaped earthwork is northwest to southeast and northeast to southwest aligned, with a sharp angular corner. The northern extent of the earthwork is defined as a field boundary on the Parish Tithe map of approximately 1838-48, although the southern section of the earthwork appears to have passed out of use by this time. The field boundary appears to have formed part of a small rectilinear shaped plot, possibly defining the extent of a former post-medieval orchard. A number of adjacent orchards depicted here on the Parish Tithe map offer some support to this interpretation. The earthwork bank is not clearly visible on aerial photographs or other digital images made available to the survey.
