Full description

Gerrard, H., 149840, 149840 (Un-published). SDV340118.

Visited approximately 1998. Bowl barrow 520 metres south-west of Gorvin Farm. Other details: AI 149840.

Grinsell, L. V., 1970, The Barrows of North Devon, 121 (Article in Serial). SDV7849.

Visited 5th April 1969. Mound covered by scrub. Diameter 25 paces, height 4 feet.

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1977 - 1980, SS21NE8 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV340117.

Visited 16th October 1977. A bowl barrow in good condition on a hilltop. No evidence of a ditch. Diameter 27.0 metres, height 1.8 metres.

Devon Committee for Rescue Archaeology, 1979 - 1981, North Devon Barrow Survey, DCRA ND46 (Archive - Survey). SDV341310.

Visited 16th October 1979. Diameter 27.4 metres, height 1.71 metres. Large mound in corner of pasture field. Appears to have suffered little damage. No signs of ditch. Good condition.

Visited 5th September 1996. Viewed from barrow group to north. Appears to still be in good condition in pasture. Not ploughed or re-seeded as sides too steep. Forms part of aligned group with four other barrows.

Bowl barrow forming part of a group. Survives as a 1.8 metre high circular mound with a diameter of 25.4 metres. Surrounding ditch survives as a buried feature approximately 4 metres wide. The field boundary which crosses the monument from north to south is excluded from the scheduling, although the ground beneath is included.
