Possible earthwork mounds of uncertain date are visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, within Reddick’s Hill and Underdown Covert. The cluster of four possible earthworks are located either side of the A30, on steep west facing slope. Given the high incidence of post-medieval to 19th century extractive pits recorded along the hillside here, it is possible the mounds are the result of some such workings, such as spoil heaps. It is also possible they are the result of natural slumping or simply an artefact of the lidar survey data. The possible earthworks are not visible on aerial photographs or other digital images made available to the survey owing to tree cover here.
