A former field boundary of potential medieval to post-medieval date is visible as an earthwork bank and ditch on aerial photographs of 1982 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the southwest of Devonshire Inn Farm. The linear northeast to southwest aligned bank with flanking ditch is depicted as a field boundary on the Parish Tithe map of approximately 1838-48, although has passed out of use by the time of the Ordnance Survey First Edition map of between the 1880’s-90’s. The field boundary was transcribed during this survey given its association with extraction pit MDV116400, which appears to truncate the earthwork ditch and abut the earthwork bank.
