Parallel linear banks, circa 3 metres in width, are visible as earthworks on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 and aerial photographs taken from 1947 onwards. They are aligned cross-contour and seem typical of the tree planting banks that were common in orchards of post-medieval or 19th century date to aid drainage. However there is no cartographic evidence of orchards in this location, suggesting that any tree planting banks went out of use by the mid-19th century.
