Several curvilinear earthwork ditches, circa 2 metres wide, are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1947 onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. They are similar in appearance to the gutters of post-medieval or 19th century watermeadows, and the origin seems to be at Yeatlands Farm, perhaps suggesting an ‘integrated’ catchmeadow system whereby manure was mingled with water for distribution across the hillslopes. However their alignment is not typical, appearing to curve around the contour before a slight rise at the western end. It is possible that they were fed from both ends, from both the farm and the spring that issues at circa ST2724700211, and a similar layout is apparent in the nearby possible watermeadow recorded as MDV116505.
