An irregular earthwork pit, circa 35-70 metres, is visible on aerial photographs taken from 1947 and a slight earthwork on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. It is interpreted as the remains of an extractive pit that was abandoned by the late-19th century, the approximate area being depicted as rough ground on the late-19th century mapping and as a small plot of scrubby land on the Tithe map.
